Surfing AOL chat rooms in 1998 with my screen name "Iwishygrl", I came across one called, "COPS WITH ATTITUDES" It wasn't your average chat of A/S/L age, sex and location. A female officer was telling people that her house had started on fire. The conversation continued and it was clear these people "knew" each other.
I frequented the chat room often enough that I changed my name to "CopAdorer" it was my "Go To" Chat. People up-loaded their photos to each other and while they were doing so you couldn't chat. AOL had a website tool to make yourself a page. I made one for the ladies and one for the guys and they gave me their photos for two pages. When people asked for our pics we would send them the link instead. No more interruptions from downloads. Problem solved.
In January of 2000 someone informed us that "NJGun" was killed by a car while riding his motorcycle. A lot of people "knew him, knew him" They asked me to make a page for him on the AOL tool. He is, Louis A. LaSalle from New Jersey. The first fallen officer on this website in 2000. Weeks later another officer died, and another (heart attack), and another - and that was the moment I realized some of these people wont be honored, because they didn't die in the line of duty CopAdorer.com was created. Someone needed to honor these men and women. I will do it myself. Here we are 24 years later.
I was the first one not in town, not in the state, not in the U.S. not in a country .. but on the PLANET to get a Federal conviction of someone making Death Threats in our AOL chat room "COPS WITH ATTITUDES" a person whos real identity we did not know and was employed by the federal government. Federal 18 month investigation. See PSA from the Attorney General and an article in USA Today. This case is still used in Law Schools as a Land Mark case.
This will most likely be the last time I revamp CopAdorer's Boys In Blue. After 24 years of being on the web I spent a few weeks in March of 2022 breaking it down and prioritizing the most relevant information. ODMP.org has all the stats a person could want. In 2015 with everyone going from AOL to Face Book emails were fewer and AOL chat rooms disappeared to be replaced with FB groups and pages. All the information on this website is on my Face Book Page CopAdorer's Boys In Blue **Follow Me** with exception to this About Me page.
With my mothers passing and burying her on October 15, 2021 (Bill and my 23rd Anniversary) and my father in a nursing home with Alzheimer's disease since August 2021 mortality has motivated and inspired me to get some of my affairs in order. This website is one of them. Its my baby. I gave it a bath, brushed its hair, put some new clothes on it and secured its protection one more time. Just for you.
Thank you to all of the people that have contacted me through emails and phone calls through the past two and a half decades. Meeting you in person was a delight. To all of those that still remain my friends, yes even from AOL. Life is a journey and you have been a part of my life journey. God Bless You.
Wait!! I'm still on the planet and if ANYONE should request a memorial listing, I will most definitely add their loved one who has died on or off the line of duty. I will do it until I cant do it any more. No one should ever be forgotten. Especially someone that would take a bullet for you without knowing your name. Say their name.
Love,
Paula

Biker nick name: "Bounce" Why? Because the first solo ride on my bike (without the side car attached) as I turned the first corner from the house I didn't look at the street, as I was told to when I had biker classes at Harley Davidson. I was looking at the neighbors tree. That's right, I headed right for it and hit it head on. Woke up laying on the ground and I was getting wet. I thought, I didn't hit that tree hard enough for a gas leak?? I was getting wet by the neighbors sprinkler system. *go ahead, insert a laugh here* Two men came to my rescue, one was a rider. He took my bike home and I got a ride from the older gentleman.
Gardening - I have an extensive garden every year. I dehydrate, can, bake, freeze everything. My zucchini bread is sent out to friends postal mail they want it so bad. I finally gave them the recipe and my relish is to die for they say.
Riding my motorcycle - I ride when I am able, we only get 5 months of good riding in the Black Hills. I go to Full Throttle Saloon, my stomping ground months before the rally and for a month afterwards. Of course I attend the Sturgis Rally. Going from Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish, Lead, Hill City, Custer, Deadwood, Hill City and back home. I ride alone, its my "me time".
Hooking - Long winters are occupied by grabbing some yarn and a hook and creating beautiful treasures like grandma used to make. I have made 1,000's yes 1,000's of purses, baby clothes, afghans, dresses etc. and even raffled off a U.S.A. Flag fit for a king bed for a veteran that needed medical assistance. You can see it here
